IHSAA Approves Sectional Assignments For Six Team Sports

The assignments will remain mostly unchanged from last school year.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) – The Indiana High School Athletic Association has approved sectional assignments in six team sports for the 2021-22 school year.

Last month, the IHSAA Executive Committee voted to freeze member school enrollment figures from the current classification cycle for an additional year (2021-22) after this year’s school enrollments showed significant fluctuation likely affected by the pandemic.

Therefore, all schools will remain in the same respective classifications in each sport for one more year with the exception of those who meet the Tournament Success Factor criteria.

Since classifications are mostly the same going into the 2021-22 school year, most sectionals will remain unchanged in boys and girls basketball, boys and girls soccer, football and volleyball.
