(Harrison, Oh.) – It was a historic Thursday night at Harrison High School.
Chloe Dearwester became the first girl to win a varsity wrestling match in program history.
The historic win came against Loveland.
Girls wrestling continues to be one of the fastest growing sports in Ohio.
Still, the state does not yet have an official girls state wrestling tournament, and has not sanctioned girls wrestling as a sport. However, the OHSAA is currently working on establishing sanctioning guidelines for girls wrestling.
Congrats to @ChloeDearwester on making history today as the 1st girl to win a varsity match for @WrestlingHW Great job kid! pic.twitter.com/8QqPwIKjVu
