(Aspen, Colo.) - A couple southeastern Indiana guys did well at the opening day of the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado on Thursday.
Olympic skier Nick Goepper came in seventh in the qualifying rounds in men’s ski slopestyle. The best of his two runs was an 82.33 as he was sharp on the rail portion of the course, but was reserved on the jumps.
Luckily, the seventh-place performance just does get him into the ski slopestyle final on Sunday. Goepper has three previous winter X Games gold medals in the event, so competitors shouldn’t count him out despite his prelims scores.
You can watch the men's ski slopestyle finals at the Winter X Games on Sunday afternoon on ESPN 2.
