Get Ready For The 19th Rivertown Classic

All eight varsity games of the 19th Rivertown Classic will be broadcast live on Eagle Country 99.3 January 2nd-5th.

(Aurora, Ind.) - Now in its 19th year, the River Town Classic Basketball Tournament runs Wednesday through Saturday, January 2 through 5. The girls and boys Lawrenceburg Tigers, Rising Sun Shiners, South Dearborn Knights and Switzerland County Pacers will play in this annual competition.

Sponsors of the 2019 Classic are Highpoint Health Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine and Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, who will provide players and cheerleaders from each team with commemorative T-shirts. Highpoint Health Physical Therapy provides trainer coverage and Beacon provides medical coverage during the games.

The 2019 River Town varsity basketball schedule is as follows at South Dearborn High School in Aurora.

 

Wednesday, January 2

* 6:00 p.m., South Dearborn vs. Switzerland County - girls

* 8:00 p.m., Rising Sun vs. Lawrenceburg - girls

 

Thursday, January 3

* 6:00 p.m., South Dearborn vs. Switzerland County - boys

* 8:00 p.m., Rising Sun vs. Lawrenceburg - boys

 

Friday, January 4

* 6:00 p.m., consolation game - girls

* 8:00 p.m., championship game - girls

 

Saturday, January 5

* 5:30 p.m., consolation game - boys

* 8:00 p.m., championship game - boys

 

Cheerleaders will compete between the boys’ consolation and championship games on January 5. The winning and runner-up cheerleading teams will be announced during halftime of the championship game.

South Dearborn High School is located at 5770 Highlander Place, off State Route 350. Single session tickets are $6 each. An all session pass is $10 per person. Tickets can be purchased at the respective high schools and will also be sold at the door. For more information, please call SDHS at 812/926-3772. South Dearborn’s All Sports passes will not be accepted for the River Town Classic.

The eight varsity games plus the cheerleading competition will be broadcast live on Eagle Country 99.3 FM.

Junior varsity basketball games will also be played that week. There is a separate admission charge for these games, which will be played at Switzerland County, Rising Sun and Lawrenceburg High Schools. For dates and times, please contact SDHS at 812/926-3772 or the individual schools.
