(Aurora, Ind.) – South Dearborn High School girls basketball will have its fourth varsity head coach in six seasons.
The school announced Tuesday that Doug Robertson has been hired as the new varsity head coach. The South Dearborn Community Schools Board of Trustees voted 7-0 on Monday to give Robertson the job.
Robertson comes to Aurora by way of Franklin County High School, where he amassed a record of 47-51 in four seasons. He also has previous coaching experience at Michigan City High School, Covenant Christian High School, Bishop Noll Institute, and Andrean High School. His career record as a head coach in Indiana is 105-142 in 12 seasons.
Robertson will take over a Knights program which went 11-13 in the 2017-2018 season under one-and-done coach Kent Vories. He will try to lead them to their first winning season since the 2011-2012 campaign.
Michael Bree spent three seasons as South Dearborn’s head coach from 2014 until 2017, following the departure of longtime coach Bob Bressert, now at Milan.
