First Round Pairings Announced for 2025 River Town Classic

The annual tournament will be held Wednesday, January 8 through Saturday, January 11 at South Dearborn HS.

(Aurora, Ind.) – The first-round matchups are set for the 2025 River Town Classic.

The annual tournament will be held Wednesday, January 8 through Saturday, January 11 at South Dearborn High School.

In the first round, Lawrenceburg will matchup up with Switzerland County, while the host Knights will play Rising Sun.

Lawrenceburg swept the RTC last season winning the girls and boys basketball tournaments and the cheerleading competition.

The Lady Tigers have won eight consecutive RTC titles and nine overall (most all-time). South Dearbonr has eight RTC titles, while Switzerland County has won seven times. Rising Sun is seeking their first Girls RTC title.

Lawrenceburg’s boys come into this season’s tournament as back-to-back champions. They have won 10 overall, the most on the boys side. South Dearborn has nine RTC championship wins, Switzerland County has four and Rising Sun has one.

The full schedule for the 2025 Rivertown Classic is listed below. All eight games will air on Eagle Country 993.

Wednesday, January 8 – Girls First Round

Lawrenceburg vs. Switzerland County – 6:00 pm
Rising Sun vs. South Dearborn – 7:30 pm

Thursday, January 9 – Boys First Round

Lawrenceburg vs. Switzerland County – 6:00 pm
Rising Sun vs. South Dearborn – 7:30 pm

Friday, January 10 – Girls Consolation and Championship

Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2 – 6:00 pm
Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2 – 7:30 pm

Saturday, January 11 – Boys Consolation and Championship

Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2 – 6:00 pm
Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2 – 7:30 pm

**Cheerleading Competition will be held Saturday, January 11 at 2:00 p.m.
