Eleven Sharpshooters Advance In K Of C Free Throw Shooting Competition

The 11 winners will compete at the regional competition in Scottsburg with a chance to advance to the state finals.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Eleven youngsters from southeastern Indiana proved to be the best free throw shooters in the area.

The annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition took place January 11 at St. Lawrence School in Lawrenceburg.

Boys and girls ages 9 to 14 were invited to compete.

Six boys advanced to the next stage of the competition. They are: Cooper Merica (9, Aurora), Mason Bascom (10, Rising Sun), Briton Mattox (11, Aurora), Jackson Voss (12, Milan), Noah Bruce (13, Moores Hill) and Nate Elliot (14, Rising Sun).

Five girls also advanced: Isabella Barber (9, Lawrenceburg), Illana Prosser (10, Versailles), Emma Voss (11, Milan), Reese Merica (12, Aurora) and Macy Collier (14, Vevay).

The 11 winners will compete at the regional competition in late February at Scottsburg with a chance to advance to the state finals.
