(St. Leon, Ind.) - Maria Mayer and Tyler Stenger were at the IHSAA Foundation Banquet on Monday.

Both were among student-athletes from across the state that were recognized for various accomplishments.

Mayer was one of two recipients of the 2026 Amy Hasbrook Leadership Award. The scholarship goes to multi-sport athletes who exemplify and embody sportsmanship, leadership, integrity, dedication to team-first, and community service.

Stenger was recognized for his years of service and dedication on the IHSAA Student Advisory Committee. He was one of only 18 students from across the state that was selected to be on the committee.

After graduation, Mayer plans to major in chemistry while continuing her soccer career at Ashland University, with aspirations of pursuing a career in healthcare through physical therapy or pharmacy. She hopes to one day return to athletics as a coach, mentoring young athletes the way her own mentors shaped her.

Stenger, a Dearborn County Lilly Endowment Scholarship recipient, plans to major in Agriculture Economics at Purdue University.
