Boys Basketball Sectional Pairings Announced, Hoosier Hysteria Starts March 4

INDIANAPOLIS - Basketball just means more in Indiana. 

On Sunday evening, the IHSAA released sectional pairings for the 115th annual Boys Basketball State Tournament.

A total of 403 teams will compete across four classifications with sectional play beginning Tuesday, March 4 and ending on Saturday, March 8. 

Single-game regional championships will be played on Saturday, March 15, followed by the two-game semi-state round on Saturday, March 22. 

Four state championship games will conclude the state tournament on Saturday, March 29 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis.

Class 4A Sectional 14 at Columbus East

Records Against Sectional Opponents: Columbus North (4-0), Columbus East (2-2), Whiteland (2-3), East Central (1-2), Franklin (1-3)

Class 3A Sectional 29 at South Dearborn

Class 2A Sectional 45 at Southwestern (Hanover)

Records Against Sectional Opponents: South Ripley (2-0), Southwestern (2-1), Austin (1-1), Brown County (0-0), Switzerland County (0-3)

South Ripley (20-1) ranks #1 in the Class 2A AP Poll. Raiders seeking first sectional title in eight years. Rank 10th in the state in average margin of victory (20.38)

Southwestern (Hanover) (17-4) ranks #12 in the Class 2A AP Poll. Rebels have won 17 or more games in eight straight seasons.

South Ripley defeated Southwestern 55-54 on February 6

South Ripley's Cole Henry and Switzerland County's Cam Craig broke all-time leading scoring records this season at their respective schools

Class 1A Sectional 60 at Milan

Hauser (19-3) ranks #3 in the Class 1A AP Poll 

Hauser ranks 1st in the state in average margin per victory (28.73)
