(Rising Sun, Ind.) – One of the largest catfish tournaments in the country is returning to Rising Sun.
The 13th Annual Ohio River Valley Cats Catfish Tournament will be held Saturday and Sunday, September 8-9 on the Ohio River in Rising Sun.
The two-day tournament will feature teams of up to three anglers competing for the top prize of $10,000.
Last year, the first-place team hailed from Brooks, Kentucky and weighed-in a two-day total of 176.6 pounds. In total, the 2017 tournament paid out nearly $40,000 in cash and prizes.
Teams can register for the 2018 event on Saturday morning before 7:00 a.m. Fishing hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The public is encouraged to attend the family friendly event. Rising Sun Mayor Brent Bascom will be providing a free barbeque lunch on Saturday afternoon during the weigh-in.
