(Terre Haute, Ind.) – A former St. Henry High School soccer star is making waves at the collegiate level.

Indiana State forward Mackenzie Kent was named Freshman of the Week by the Missouri Valley Conference on Monday.

Kent, an Aurora native, scored her first collegiate goal against Northern Illinois on Sunday. Her goal tied the game in the 90th minute, sending the game to extra time.

Kent has started the last two matches for the Sycamores, totaling four shots with three on goal.

Prior to committing to Indiana State, Kent was a four-year letter winner at St. Henry, where she helped lead her team to a state championship in 2019. Kent scored three goals and assisted on two others in the championship game. She also set the St. Henry single-season goal record with 37 in 2019.

Kent and her Sycamore teammates will be back in action this Thursday against Missouri.
