CINCINNATI – The YES Home is one step closer to a $100,000 grant.

Local giving circle Impact 100 announced the seven nonprofits selected to be the 2023 Impact 100 grant finalists at its first combined Meet the Finalist and Education event on June 27.

Four of the seven grant finalists will receive a $100,000 grant on September 12 during the Impact 100 Annual Awards Celebration at Music Hall. The seven finalists are:

  • COVERD Greater Cincinnati (dba Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank), for We’ve got You COVERD – Fly & Dry Basic Needs Bank
  • Dohn Community High School, for Keeping Teen Moms in School (KTMIS) Transportation
  • People Working Cooperatively, for their Workforce Development Program
  • Samaritan Car Care Clinic, for their Vehicle Purchase Program
  • Tikkun Farm, for Improving Waste Reduction Strategies
  • Whitney/Strong Inc., for Youth Gun Violence Prevention Curriculum Development
  • Youth Encouragement Services, Inc., for YES Home Renovation

All seven finalists will present their proposals to the Impact 100 membership at the event. Candidates submit applications for funding in one of five key IMPACT areas. They are culture, education, environment, preservation & recreation, family, and health & wellness.

Should the YES Home be selected as a grant recipient, they plan to renovate the YES Home, creating a safe and therapeutic space for counseling and family visits for youth often experiencing abuse, neglect or mental health issues, ensuring they receive the necessary support and services to overcome their challenges and improve their well-being.

The YES Home is a residential group home for youths ages 12-20, providing a structured, nurturing environment for abused, neglected and abandoned children. Learn more at https://www.yeshome.org/.
