(Madison, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Dave O'Mara Contractor, Inc. continues work on State Road 56 (Clifty Drive) and will begin milling and asphalt resurfacing operations on or after Monday, July 21, in Madison.

The first phase of milling and asphalt resurfacing will take place on S.R. 56 from just west of the Clifty Falls State Park North Entrance to the State Road 7 intersection. Single lane closures will be used on eastbound and westbound S.R. 56 while milling and resurfacing work is in progress.

Additional information and updates will be provided as work progresses. Overall work on S.R. 56 (Clifty Drive) is scheduled to be complete in October 2025, weather permitting.

This work is part of a $12.3 million contract awarded to Dave O'Mara in November 2023. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
