Woman's Death At Casino Hotel Under Investigation

A Rising Sun woman was found dead in a hotel room at Belterra Casino Resort.

(Switzerland County, Ind.) - Switzerland County authorities are investigating a woman’s death at Belterra Casino Resort.

Cherish R. Damerst, 24, of Rising Sun, was found unresponsive in a hotel room at the casino, the sheriff's office announced Tuesday. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Switzerland County Coroner.

A cause of Damerst’s death has not yet been determined.

Sheriff's detectives are being assisted by the Indiana State Police and Indiana Gaming Commission.
