Where To Watch 4th Of July Fireworks In The Tri-State Area

By Travis Thayer (Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Celebrate our country's independence at one of the several fireworks displays that will take place throughout the tri-state area this weekend. Here is a list of 4th of July weekend fireworks displays around the tri-state: FRIDAY, JULY 3 Florence, Kentucky – Florence Independence Day festivities will take place from 5:00 to 11:00 p.m. at the Florence Government Center. Activities include food, rides and games, live music, and a fireworks display. The fireworks will go off at 10:00 p.m. A rain date has been scheduled for Saturday, July 4 from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. Florence, Kentucky - The Florence Freedom will be joined by WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter at UC Health Stadium on Friday to kick-off an All-American weekend at the ballpark.  There will be a fireworks display following the game. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. Milan, Indiana – The Milan Lions Club will fire off their annual display at dusk at Daren Baker Memorial Park. The Lions Club will be accepting donations to help continue their annual display. The Lions Club Fourth of July parade will take place on Saturday, July 4 at 10:00 a.m. on Main Street. Osgood, Indiana – The Ripley County Chamber of Commerce will hold its 15th annual Chamber Night Fireworks at the Ripley County Fairgrounds. The firework display will start at dark. Prior to the fireworks, food and vendor booths will open at 5:00 p.m. and live music will begin at 7:00 p.m. Versailles, Indiana – Fireworks at Versailles Lake in Versailles State Park at 10:00 p.m. Entry to the park is free from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. The display is sponsored by the park and freewill donations will be accepted. SATURDAY, JULY 4 Batesville, Indiana – The eighth annual 4 on the 4th Run/Walk will kick of the day beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Batesville Christian Church. Following the race will be a cookout at Church on the Rock at 6:00 p.m. The meal is free to the public. Hillcrest Country Club will offer members a fireworks display at dusk. The community may also watch from public areas such as the high school and primary school. Florence, Kentucky - The Florence Freedom All-American weekend continues on the 4th of July with another fireworks display that will light up the sky post-game. First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m. Greendale, Indiana – The annual fireworks display will begin at dusk at Greendale City Park on Nowlin Avenue. Prior to the fireworks will be the Greendale 4th of July 5K Run/Walk at 7:30 a.m. at Greendale Cabin, a Fishing Derby at Schnebelt’s Pond at 9:00 a.m., and a Kids Parade at 3:00 p.m. Greendale pool free admission from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Harrison, Ohio – A huge parade kicks of the day at 10:00 a.m., followed by a community celebration starting at 5:00 p.m. at the community center on George Street. This year’s activities include family entertainment, food and drinks, free games and much more. The fireworks display will begin at dusk and will last about 30 minutes. Everyone is welcome to bring chairs and blankets. No alcoholic beverages permitted. Rising Sun, Indiana – Due to an unfavorable Ohio River forecast the Rising Sun Fireworks have been moved to the Rising Sun Soccer Fields at Shiner Park. The launch site with be located in the youth soccer fields behind left field of the high school baseball diamond. Live music and food will be provided from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. prior to the event.
