(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Volunteers from Lawrenceburg Power LLC., the City of Lawrenceburg and area residents met April 26th at the Clock Tower on Walnut Street to get an early start on an annual river cleanup project in honor of Earth Day and before the spring tourism season begins along the waterfront.

The target area of the Ohio River Sweep was between Hollywood Casino & the Dearborn Trailhead along the Ohio River in downtown Lawrenceburg. Working together, volunteers collected enough trash and debris to fill a 30-yard dumpster including tires, furniture and barrels along a 1-mile area of shoreline.

Volunteers were provided gloves, buckets, trash bags, trash pickers, shovels, water, Lawrenceburg River Sweep tee shirts and lunch provided by Strong’s Pizza. Volunteers could see the difference before, during and after the River Sweep with quite an impact.

WE THANK OUR VOLUNTEERS for helping to beautify our riverfront for all to enjoy EVERYDAY!

Special THANKS to our sponsors Lawrenceburg Power LLC and the City of Lawrenceburg.
