Visitation for Carson Hughes Set for March 25

(Osgood, Ind.) – Family and friends of Carson Hughes will be received on Monday, March 25 at Jac-Cen-Del High School Gym.

Visitation will be held from noon to 5:00 p.m. with funeral services immediately following.

The 18-year-old from Osgood tragically passed away on March 15 at Versailles State Park.

He was a three-sport student-athlete at Jac-Cen-Del, competing in soccer, baseball, and basketball. In the classroom, he was an honor roll student and a member of the National Honor Society and planned to attend Purdue University to study Industrial Design.

Carson was also known for his love of photography, specifically wildlife. His talent garnered him several awards including the 2023 Indiana State Department of Agriculture’s Conservation Category winner for his photo, “Wild Connections”, which is currently on display in the Lt. Governor’s business offices.

He additionally received the 2023 Oak Heritage Conservancy award for one his photos. Locally, he won several awards through 4-H and received the “Best in Show” youth division at the 2023 Pumpkin Show. 

A memorial fund is being established in Carson’s memory. His artwork will be available for purchase throughout the visitation with all profits going to the fund.
