(Versailles, Ind.) – Versailles Fire Rescue used a new device to help a patient at Versailles State Park over the holiday weekend.
First responders were dispatched to the park on Sunday to assist with extricating a patient from a horse trail.
Firefighters utilized the department’s new Mule Rescue Device during the operation. The carrying device comes with a single all-terrain wheel, fast and simple securing system and handles to provide easier carrying, while reducing fatigue and chance of injury.
Funds from the Milan American Legion and Southeastern Indiana REMC Roundup grant helped secure the new device to enhance the department's capabilities.
The name and status of the injured subject was not released.
