(Greendale, Ind.) – The Ameristop convenience store in Greendale is experiencing an inconvenience after a SUV crashed through its windows Sunday.

Greendale Police Assistant Chief Jeff Lane says Benjamin Moore, of Milan, was parking a 1996 Chevrolet Trailblazer in front of the store at the intersection of U.S. 50 and State Road 1.

According to Lane, Moore’s brake pedal malfunctioned and got caught up with the gas pedal. The acceleration caused the Blazer to jump the curb and crash into the glass storefront.

The store received heavy damage and was closed down due to safety issues, Lane said. The Dearborn County Building Inspector was called to the scene.

Nobody was injured.
