(Walton, Ky.) - A deadly crash on Interstate 75 in northern Kentucky shut down the interstate for much of the evening Tuesday.
Police say four vehicles were at a near stop at a construction site in the southbound lanes near Walton at about 7:00 p.m.
A Toyota 4Runner driven by Harlan Jones, 57, rear ended a Toyota Camry driven by a 30-year-old woman from Crittenden, Ky. That caused a chain reaction crash which forced the Camry to collide with a Ford Taurus driven by Kimberly Summers, 42, of Indianapolis, in front of it. Summers’ vehicle then hit a Dodge Stratus driven by Timothy Cranert, 47, of Corinth, Ky.
The Crittenden woman died at the scene. Her name has not been released.
I-75 reopened overnight after being closed for several hours.
The crash is still under investigation.
