UPDATE: Fatal Crash In Switzerland Co.

By Mike Perleberg (Switzerland County, Ind.) – Indiana State Police say a Vevay man died in a crash in Switzerland County Thursday evening. A 1988 Toyota pickup truck driven by James A. Williams, 49, of Vevay, was northbound on East Enterprise/Markland Pike when he crossed the center line in a curved section of the road at about 5:00 p.m. Williams’ pickup was struck in the driver side door by a southbound 1999 Ford dually truck pulling a 25 foot flatbed trailer driven by Steven W. Gregory, 42, of Dry Ridge, Kentucky. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said. Gregory only suffered minor bruising. The crash remains under investigation. Indiana State Police were assisted at the scene by Switzerland County Sheriff’s Department, Jefferson Craig Fire Department, East Enterprise Fire Department, and Switzerland County Coroner’s Office.
