UPDATE: Campbell County Inmate Escapes During Work Detail

UPDATE: Murphy was located and taken back into custody on Friday. He is facing an additional one to five years in jail for escape. 

 

(Dry Ridge, Ky.) – Kentucky State Police are searching for an escaped inmate.

Teddy B. Murphy, 62, walked away from a work detail on Thursday morning at 525 Central Avenue in Newport.

Murphy was being held in Campbell County Detention Center on charges of Probation Violation and Theft by Unlawful Taking.

He is described as a white male, 5’7” and 235 pounds.

Anyone with information about his location is asked to contact Kentucky State Police or your local agency.
