(Franklin County, Ind.) - United Way of Franklin County (UWFC) is stepping up to provide relief at the gas pump.
In partnership with the Southeast Indiana Economic Coalition (SIEOC), the UWFC Board of Directors has approved a pledge to donate $10,000 to assist residents of Franklin and Ripley counties who are struggling to pay for gasoline.
The gas assistance will provide $5,000 for Franklin County and $5,000 for Ripley County.
UWFC has created the Gas Relief Fund to raise money for the SIEOC to distribute gas cards to those in need.
“The Board of Directors felt strongly about assisting those that are struggling to afford gas”, stated Executive Director Kelly Bulmer. “So, we reached out to one of our partners to see how we could help. We hope this is a springboard for the community to come together and give. I’ve heard a lot of people asking how they can help; well this is how!”
You can give to the Gas Relief Fund online at www.uwfcin.org, on the UWFC Facebook page, by texting “helpwgas” to 44-321 or through the mail at P.O. Box 105 Brookville, IN.
Call the SIEOC toll free to find out if you qualify for assistance at 1-888-292-5475.
