Two Vehicle Crash Turns Fatal in Ohio County

(Ohio County, Ind.) - One person sustained fatal injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Milton Bear Branch Road. 

Ohio County Sheriff's deputies responded to the crash on Monday around 6:30 p.m.

The collision involved a passenger car driven by Vernon Smith of Cincinnati, and a combine used for harvesting, operated by Tim Colen of Switzerland County.

The investigation revealed that the passenger car collided into the front tire of the combine as both vehicles were traveling in opposite directions.

Smith was transported to UC Hospital at Cincinnati where he passed away from his injuries. Colen was not injured.

The investigation is ongoing.
