Two Injured in Recreational Vehicle Crash in Ripley Co.

Investigators believe alcohol was a contributing factor.

(Ripley County, Ind.) – Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in a recreational vehicle crash in Ripley County.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash last Thursday outside of Cross Plains.

Deputies say Dennis Ryker, 74, of Cross Plains, was traveling in a wooded area near County Road 1050 South and South Werner Road when for reasons unknonw he lost control of his vehicle and ran over Emma Stuehrenberg, 23, of Cross Plains.

Ryker’s vehicle then struck a tree before coming to a stop. He was ejected from the vehicle and was flown to UC Medical Center with a head injury.

Stuehrenberg was transported to King’s’ Daughters Hospital in Madison with unknown injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
