(Brookville, Ind.) – A semi hauling shingles crash on U.S. 52 near Brookville on Tuesday.

Semi driver Jordan Michael Howard, 27, of Knightstown, Indiana, had just picked up a load of shingles from the Owens Corning facility in Brookville, according to Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies.

At around 3:00 p.m., Howard was driving the 2005 Freightliner pulling a flatbed on U.S. 52 about a mile west of Brookville when the right-side tires got off the edge of the roadway, which caused the truck to be pulled into the ditch. The truck and trailer tipped and came to a rest on its side.

Howard was transported by Brookville EMS 2 to Margaret Mary Health Hospital in Batesville to be treated for minor injuries.

U.S. 52 was closed at the crash scene for more than four hours as deputies investigated and crews cleared the wreckage.

The sheriff’s department was assisted at the scene by Brookville Volunteer Fire Department and Responder 24.
