Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Fugitive

(Dearborn County, Ind.) - A fugitive of justice since 2006 was arrested in Dearborn County on Wednesday. 

According to the Dearborn County Sheriff's Office, Koba Shinijikashvili was arrested during a traffic stop after Deputy Max Meddings observed multiple traffic violations. 

During the stop, Meddings learned that Shinijikashvili was a fugitive of justice through the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, commonly referred to as I.C.E. 

Based on the facts of the investigation, a search of the suspect's van was conducted. During the search, controlled substances and multiple syringes were uncovered.

Shinjikashvili was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a legend drug and possession marijuana. T

he Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a detainer on Shinjikashvili, who has been a fugitive of justice since 2006.
