Town Of Dillsboro Donates $100K To Highpoint Health Foundation

The funds will go towards the Hearing, Helping, Healing Campaign, which supports two strategic objectives: constructing a new cancer center in Dearborn County and increasing the Highpoint Health Foundation’s endowment.

The Town of Dillsboro demonstrated their commitment to helping improve the health of its residents by pledging $100,000 to the Highpoint Health Foundation’s Hearing, Helping, Healing Campaign. (Dillsboro, Ind.) - The Dillsboro Town Council made a significant investment in the health and well-being of its residents by voting to support the Highpoint Health Foundation’s Hearing, Helping, Healing Campaign. Citing the tremendous need for top-flight healthcare for its citizens, especially in the area of cancer care, the Dillsboro Town Council pledged $100,000 to the Foundation’s initiative.

“Everyone realizes the great importance of having a hospital in our county,” stated Mary Lou Powers, President of the Dillsboro Town Council. “It takes an incredible amount of resources, both financially and in terms of qualified staff, just to maintain such a facility, let alone acquire new state-of-the-art equipment and expand and enhance care on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. As Highpoint Health endeavors to make a higher and more diverse level of care easily accessible for our residents, we as the Town Council, felt it was appropriate that we support their efforts with a significant pledge.”

Initiated in January, the Hearing, Helping, Healing Campaign supports two strategic objectives: constructing a new cancer center in Dearborn County and increasing the Highpoint Health Foundation’s endowment.

While $100,000 is a large pledge for a community the size of Dillsboro, it underscores the need for exceptional cancer detection, treatment and related services, here in Dearborn County. Dillsboro’s commitment to the Campaign represents not only a financial pledge to the Highpoint Health Foundation but a pledge to its citizens for their long-term health and well-being.”
