(Wilmington, Oh.) – A Tornado Watch has been issued for over 50 Indiana counties.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, the Tornado Watch is in effect until 10:00 p.m. Thursday.
Local counties listed under the watch include:
- Dearborn, Franklin, Ohio, Ripley, and Switzerland counties in Indiana
- Boone, Carroll, Gallatin, and Kenton counties in Kentucky
- Hamilton County, Ohio
The NWS reported strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Osgood to Claryville around 2:07 p.m. The storm is capable of producing high wind gusts and half inch hail.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue moving across the tri-state region this afternoon and evening with some storms producing damaging winds and large hail.
Isolated tornadoes are also possible.
The most likely time for severe weather looks to be from 3:00 to 11:00 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
