The Aurora Farmers Fair kicked off on Wednesday night.

(Aurora, Ind.) - The Aurora Farmers Fair kicked off on Wednesday night with the annual King and Queen Contest.
Switzerland County High School students Austin Johns and Lainie McAlister were named the King and Queen. Johns is the first King from Switzerland County since Brody Splain in 2016. A Switzerland County student has won Queen two of the last three years with McAlister winning on Wednesday night and Ava Cole winning two years ago.
Johns and McAlister each received a $1,000 scholarship from Ivy Tech Community College.
Adam Dennis, of Oldenburg Academy and Nevaeh Carpenter, of Milan, were the runners-up.
