(Sunman, Ind.) - Jasmyn "Jazzy" Blackburn is a kindergarten teacher at Sunman Elementary School.

She is also a successful pageant girl.

The 24-year-old from Lawrenceburg recently finished as 1st Runner-Up to Miss Indiana.

"I'm so incredibly proud to say that I won first place in every single optional competition I competed in," said Blackburn. "Pageantland has been such a fun chapter of my life, full of sparkly dresses, pretty jewelry, and getting to feel like Barbie playing dress-up. But when I really think about why I started pageantry in the first place, it was never about the sparkly crown. My biggest goal was to have a platform, a way to reach people, share my heart, and inspire others to be positive, happy, kind and confident."

"We are SO proud of you and all that you have accomplished! Your dedication, confidence, kindness, and commitment to inspiring others make us proud to call you one of our own. ğŸŒŸ What an incredible achievement! Congratulations on this well-deserved honor," reads a statement from Sunman Elementary School.

Blackburn was named Miss Dearborn County in 2025. She is also a dedicated volunteer with Girls on the Run, a program for elementary girls inspiring empowerment and kindness through running, and Big Brothers Big Sisters, a mentorship organization for underprivileged youth.

Blackburn was recently the subject of an article on People for her viral social media posts, highlighting her school wardrobe. She uses colorful, sparkly outfits to bring joy and excitement to her classroom.

"As I hang up my pageant heels, I'm leaving this chapter so grateful for every memory, every sparkly dress, every stage, and every lesson it gave me. I may not be "Miss Indiana," but I've learned that I don't need to be "Miss" anything to make an impact on the world. Being Miss Jazzy is more than enough," Blackburn added.
