Structure Fire on Schantz Street

Firefighters estimate using nearly 10,000 gallons of water.

(Sunman, Ind.) An active structure fire was reported at 8:58 this morning on Schantz Street.

Homeowners were inside their home and evacuated at the start of the fire. No injuries were reported, both for the homeowners and firefighters on scene.

The home was engulfed and the flame was visible as first responders arrived. Firefighters reported using an estimated 10,000 gallons of water to extinguish the fire.

Assisting Sunman Fire Department was Manchester, Miller York, and Morris Fire Department, as well as Sunman EMS and the Dearborn County Sheriffs Department.
