(Switzerland County, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Sunesis Construction plans to close State Road 156 on or after Monday, April 3 to complete a slide repair and erosion control project in Switzerland County.
Under the closure, crews will work to stabilize and repair a 2,100-foot section of roadway located between Turtle Creek Road and Wade Hill Road, east of Florence. Bulgar Tapp Road will be accessible from Hominy Ridge Road.
Motorists should utilize the official detour route which follows S.R 129, to U.S. 50, to S.R. 56.
The contract was awarded to Sunesis Contruction Company for $6 million in January and work is expected to be complete by late fall.
INDOT reminds drivers to use extra caution, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when traveling through active construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
