(Versailles, Ind.) – Funeral arrangements have been announced for the South Ripley High School students killed in an automobile crash.

Timothy Curtis Bowman, 17, of Osgood, was one of the drivers in Thursday’s crash between two pickup trucks on Fairgrounds Road. He is the son of Tim and Pat Bowman. In his obituary, Bowman is recalled as a young man who had won forestry awards on a state level for his participation in the Future Farmers of America. He enjoyed coon hunting, deer hunting, and worked for his father’s tree trimming business.

Visitation for Bowman will be held Monday, March 11 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Hopewell Baptist Church. A second visitation will be held Tuesday, March 12 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Samantha Hansen, the daughter of Matthew and Jenny Hansen, was a passenger in driver Thomas Crawford’s pickup. The South Ripley senior was the president of the school’s FFA program. Samantha participated in the science, Spanish, SADD, drama, math, and social studies clubs. She was second runner-up in the state FFA sweetheart contest. She flew RC airplanes as part of the Jac-Cen-Del engineering club.

After school let out, Hansen would go to work at the Gold Star Chili restaurant in Versailles – the same restaurant where friends gathered for a vigil on Thursday. Following high school graduation, Hansen planned to study nursing at IUPUI in Indianapolis.

Her visitation will be Tuesday, March 12 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 13 at the church.

Jacob Vogel, 18, of Versailles, had hopes of becoming a local first responder. The junior student, the son of Brian and Ann Vogel, attended the Southeastern Career Center in emergency services. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church at Milan and was a cadet with the Friendship Fire Department, according to his obituary.

Vogel's visitation will be Monday from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the Versailles Baptist Church. His funeral mass is set for Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Milan.
