Special Olympics Winter Games Return to Perfect North Slopes Jan. 7-9

Athletes from Indiana and Ohio will be competing in three winter sports.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Two sites will be the host of competition and fun next week. 

The 2024 Special Olympics Winter Games take place Sunday, January 7 through Tuesday, January 9. 

Hundreds of Special Olympic athletes from Indiana and Ohio will take to Perfect North Slopes in Lawrenceburg to compete in three winter sports: alpine skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing. 

Additionally, athletes and their families can participate in games, activities and more at Winter Fest, which is held at Higher Ground Conference and Retreat Center in West Harrison. 

Schedule of Events

  • Sunday, Jan. 7
    • Winter Games Opening Ceremony
  • Monday, Jan. 8
    • 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Athlete instruction and practice time
    • 2-4 p.m.: Event trials competition
  • Tuesday, Jan. 9
    • 10 a.m.-noon: Event finals competition
