(Dillsboro, Ind.) - The Dillsboro and surrounding communities are coming together to support a family in need.
A Spaghetti Dinner Benefit for Hudson will take place on Friday, May 23 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Dillsboro United Methodist Church.
Hudson is the son of Keith and Liz Coombs and the grandson of Ray and Marlene Dozier.
After birth, he was diagnosed with complex congenital heart disease and spent the majority of his first year in and out of the hospital. Hudson required several cardiac cath interventions and open heart surgery in July of last year.
Throughout his recovery, Hudson has needed additional procedures and hospitalizations from complications and challenges in his recovery.
He has been diagnosed with Weiss Kruszka, a rare genetic disorder that can cause developmental delays.
To support the Coombs family, community members are invited to attend the spaghetti dinner or send a free will donation through Venmo. A QR code can be found on the Dillsboro Main Street Facebook page.
