South Ripley’s passing percentages ranked extremely well compared to schools across the county, region and state.

(Versailles, Ind.) - Recently, the IDOE released statewide data on ILEARN results from the 2022-23 school year. ILEARN is the statewide assessment given to all students in grades 3-8 in English/Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics. South Ripley’s passing percentages ranked extremely well compared to schools across the county, region and state.

Regarding the county, South Ripley had the highest passing percentages of all students tested on the English/Language Arts (ELA) test, and on the math test, as well as the highest percentage of students passing both tests.

Compared to 15 Southeast Indiana public school districts, SR ranked #1 in overall passing percentage in math, #2 in ELA, and #1 in percentage of students passing both tests. Of these same 15 area schools, SR finished #1 in percentage of students passing both tests in four of the six grade levels.

Considering that there are two tests in each of the six grade levels, that provides 12 categories in which to make comparisons. Of the 12 categories, SR finished #1 out of the 15 area school districts in seven of those categories, and #1 in the county in nine of the 12 categories.

Looking at statewide comparisons, out of 291 public school districts SR finished in the top 35 schools in 4th grade math, 6th grade math, and 7th grade math. SR finished in the top 25 schools in 3rd grade math and 8th grade math. Additionally, SR finished 16th in 7th grade ELA, and 15th in 6th grade ELA.

Superintendent Rob Moorhead commented, “These are fantastic results and I congratulate each staff member, administrator, student, parent, board member and community member for the effort that went into producing them. We are extremely proud of our students for their efforts and our staff for making no excuses when it comes to helping our students succeed. It’s another great day to be a Raider.”
