South Ripley HS Graduation Rescheduled For July 26

The hope is for an in-person commencement ceremony.

(Versailles, Ind.) – There is hope that graduating seniors at South Ripley High School will receive their diplomas in person.

The South Ripley School Corporation announced Tuesday that the commencement ceremony for the Class of 2020 has been postponed from the original date of May 30 and rescheduled for Sunday, July 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the South Ripley HS gymnasium.

Superintendent Rob Moorhead says the school corporation hopes that the commencement ceremony will be an in-person ceremony and that each graduating senior will be able to offer a specific number of tickets to family members to attend.

Plans are being made to live stream the event for those unable or unwilling to attend.

The COVID-19 pandemic is an ever-changing situation and plans may need to be revised as circumstances change.
