South Dearborn Schools to Honor Area Veterans This Friday

Festivities will take place at the school corporation's five schools.

(Aurora, Ind.) – South Dearborn Community School Corporation will be honoring Veterans across the district this Friday.

Veterans Day festivities have been lined up at Aurora Elementary, Manchester Elementary, Dillsboro Elementary, South Dearborn Middle, and South Dearborn high schools.

🇺🇸Aurora Elementary School: At 7:45am, veterans and their families are invited for breakfast, which will be served at 7:45am in the auxiliary gym (please do not arrive before 7:40am). All other parents and guests wishing to attend the program may arrive at the main gym at 8:00am for the 8:30am program. All guests may park in front of AES and enter through the main entrance.

🇺🇸Manchester Elementary School: At 8:30am in Manchester Elementary School's gym, students will be singing and reading about the branches of the armed forces. Parking is available in the front or bus parking lots.

🇺🇸Dillsboro Elementary School: At 12:30pm, doors will open for the 1:00pm ceremony in Dillsboro Elementary School's gym with reserved seating for veterans. Parking is available behind the gym.

🇺🇸South Dearborn Middle School: At 12:30pm, veterans are invited to a coffee and cookie reception in the SDMS library before the 1:00pm ceremony in the gym featuring musical performances by the SDMS Showcase and student speeches.

🇺🇸South Dearborn High School: At 1:00pm, South Dearborn High School's cafeteria will be open for students and veterans to share coffee and a dessert during a program by SDHS JAG featuring bingo, performances of the national anthem and Taps by the SDHS Music Department and remarks by PG Gentrup. Please park near the high school and enter through the main or gym entrances.
