SLSD Seeking Donations For ADA Accessibility Upgrades At New Elementary School Playgrounds

The school district needs another $57,500 to reach their goal.

(Harrison, Oh.) – The Southwest Local School District will open new elementary schools in Fall 2021, hopefully with ADA accessible playgrounds.

Basic playground costs have been included in the construction budget, however that does not include the ADA accessibility upgrades.

That's why the school district has set up the Elementary Playground Fund to help support the cause.

To date, the SLSD has secured $107,500 to support the project and need to raise an additional $57,500 by June 2021. The new playgrounds will feature both a full rubberized playing surface and four separate ADA accessible pieces of equipment.

Community members are encouraged to consider making a tax-deductible donation by sending a check to the district office at 9860 West Road, Harrison, OH 45030. Checks should be made payable to Southwest Local School District, designated to the Elementary School Playground Campaign with the specific school you are contributing to.

Online donations can be made by clicking here.
