(Switzerland County, Ind.) - A slide correction project is scheduled to start next week in Switzerland County.
According to INDOT, slide correction work will take place on State Road 156 starting on or after Monday, January 20.
The work will take place approximately 4.7 miles west of State Road 56 between Rising Sun and Patriot. Temporary traffic signals will be utilized while slide correction work is in progress. Signage will be placed in the area prior to the start of construction.
INDOT says the project is scheduled to be complete in mid-September, weather permitting.
Additional work will take place at this location following slide correction work, with overall contract completion scheduled for December 2025.
This work is part of a $4.8 million contract awarded to Paul H. Rohe in February 2024. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
