UPDATE: Sink Hole Repairs Made; State Road 148 Reopens In Aurora

Repairs have been made and the road has reopened. 

 

Original story published Thursday, May 20 at 3:19 p.m.:

(Aurora, Ind.) - A portion of State Road 148 is closed due to a sink hole. 

The City of Aurora tells Eagle Country 99.3 that a small sink hole has developed on State Road 148 (Sunnyside Avenue) near the S-curve at the top of the hill. 

According to the report, there is a much larger hole under the roadway, which has been closed in both directions until further notice. 

INDOT has been called to assess the situation.  

A detour has been set up using Ridge Avenue and Maple Street.
