(Wilmington, Oh.) - Several rounds of thunderstorms are expected today, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
Damaging winds, potentially significant, may result in widespread damage and power outages. The NWS says isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
The timeline for storms is primarily after 3:00 p.m.
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect until 8:00 a.m. Wednesday. The watch area consists of Dearborn and Franklin counties in Indiana; Boone, and Kenton counties in Kentucky; and Hamilton County, Ohio.
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
People in the watch area should keep an eye on the weather and be prepared for immediate action should heavy rains and flooding occur or a Flash Flood Warning be issued. Avoid low-lying areas and be careful when approaching highway dips and underpasses.
