Semi-Driver Airlifted To Hospital After Accident On U.S. 50 In Versailles

The accident closed down U.S. 50 in Versailles for a few hours Wednesday morning.

(Versailles, Ind.) - Air Care had to be called to a wreck that shut down U.S. 50 in Ripley County this morning. 

According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Stephen Wheeles, a semi-truck crashed and went over an embankment on U.S. 50 just west of the “Y” in Versailles around 7:30 this morning. 

The unidentified driver was flown to UC Medical Center for treatment. However, the driver’s condition was not released. 

The crash shut down U.S. 50 for about three hours, but U.S. 50 has since re-opened.
