Nancy Gerber was awarded as the 2019 IASC Thomas E. Stirling Adviser of the Year.

(Aurora, Ind.) - Indiana Association of Student Councils (IASC) announced South Dearborn High School Adviser, Nancy Gerber, as the 2019 Thomas E. Stirling Adviser of the Year.
Gerber qualified for this award by exemplifying skills needed to teach and model leadership skills for future leaders.
The Thomas E. Stirling Adviser of the Year award is based on the beliefs that Stirling had and recognizes those leaders that continue his legacy.
"He held a strong belief in students and their goodness; possessed a strong and steady work ethic; and was a lifelong learner. Mr. Stirling made steady progress toward professional growth and helped teachers also to mature professionally. These attributes are among those recognized by this IASC award," says the IASC.
Gerber led South Dearborn High School to receive a Gold ranking as an IASC Honor Council. SDHS has been apart of the Honor Council for 32 years.
Another local school receiving a Gold ranking was 1st year, Lawrenceburg High School.
