A road slip on Salt Fork Road in Dearborn County has been repaired, but motorists should drive carefully on the section.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) - Salt Fork Road in Dearborn County is open once again.
Salt Fork Road closed between State Road 1 and Jackson Ridge Road in mid-February when a portion of the road began slipping badly. The slide was exaggerated by heavy rains when had fallen over the previous couple weeks.
Dearborn County Highway Department superintendent Tim Greive announced Friday that Salt Fork Road has reopened to traffic. The slide has been fixed and the previously sunken roadway has been covered with gravel.
Greive said a permanent layer of asphalt would be poured in place of the gravel once area asphalt plants restart production for the spring and summer, likely in April.
Motorists are urged to travel slowly over the 650-foot gravel section of Salt Fork Road. Signage has been put in place approaching the area.
