Safe Place Announces Events, Social Media Challenges During Sexual Assault Awareness Month

(Batesville, Ind.) - April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

According to the FBI, one in five Hoosier women and one in 33 men experience sexual assault.

Safe Place Sexual Assault Center, a division of Safe Passage, Inc. exists to provide help, healing, and hope for all survivors of sexual assault and unwanted sexual experiences.

Community members are invited to help Safe Place in participating in Sexual Assault Awareness Month with several events and social media challenges scheduled throughout the month.

Events include:

April 2, noon - Facebook live: Ways You Can Support Survivors Online

April 6 - Day of Action...Wear TEAL!

April 7, noon - Facebook live: Sexual Violence Education for the Hispanic Community

April 9, noon - Facebook live: Modelling Healthy Behaviors to Keep Kids Safe

April 16, noon - Facebook live: Ways to Prevent Sexual Violence

April 17, 10:30 a.m. - Open discussion at Greater Vision Ministries Metamora

April 20, 1:00 p.m. - Parent Cafe: Teen Dating Violence and Sexual Violence

April 23, noon - Facebook live: Healing from Sexual Violence: How Friends and Family Can Help

April 28 - Denim Day: Wear Denim with a Purpose
