Royally Good Time At The Franklin County 4-H Fair

The fair in Brookville opens Monday, July 16 and continues through Saturday, July 21.

(Franklin County, Ind.) – People, cows, goats, chickens, and hogs will populate the Franklin County Fairgrounds this week.

It’s fair week in Franklin County. The 2018 Franklin County 4-H Fair kicks off Monday, July 16 and runs through Saturday, July 21.

This year's 4-H Fair Queen is Ingrid Miller. She was crowned at the fair queen pageant held June 24. 

Armband nights for carnival rides at the Franklin County 4-H Fair are Monday, July 16; Thursday, July 19; and Saturday, July 21. Unlimited rides are available on armband nights for $18 per person.

Pricing for grandstand events is $10 per adults 17 and older, $5 for children 6 to 16, and kids 5 and under are free. Pit passes are $15 for all. Grandstand entrance for Family Fun Night on Wednesday will be different in that it will be open to all for a free will donation.

Activities on Monday begin at 9:00 a.m. with a poultry show and a meat goat show. Grandstand entertainment at the fairgrounds in Brookville Monday night features a demolition derby starting at 7:00 p.m.

Tuesday brings a ribeye dinner served by the Franklin County Cattlemen’s Association from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and 4:30-7:30 p.m., a dance review at 6:30, and grandstand events to be announced starting at 7:00.

Wednesday activities include a 4-H member dinner at 5:00 p.m., a horse and pony demonstration at 7:00 and Family Fun Night at the grandstands starting at 5:00.

On Thursday, enjoy a baby show at 6:30 p.m., 4-H Showmen Contest at 7:00, kids pedal pull at 7:00 (registration 5:00-6:30), and a truck and tractor pull at the grandstands at 7:00.

Friday’s fun includes the 4-H livestock auction starting at 6:00 p.m. Flat drag races are the grandstand entertainment beginning at 7:00.

Saturday includes a fairgrounds cleanup effort at 9:00 a.m. Flat drag races return to the grandstands at 5:00 p.m.
