Rob Moorhead Named President of the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents

Moorhead is the Superintendent at South Ripley Schools.

(Versailles, Ind.) - South Ripley Community School Corporation is proud to announce that Superintendent Rob Moorhead has been elected as the 2025-2026 President of the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents (IAPSS).

This prestigious appointment recognizes Moorhead’s exceptional leadership and dedication to the advancement of public education in Indiana.

Moorhead has been at the helm of South Ripley Community Schools since 2012, where he has been instrumental in driving significant improvements in academic achievement, expanding student programs, and fostering a collaborative school community. Prior to his service at South Ripley, he spent the first 25 years of his career at South Dearborn High School as a math teacher, head basketball coach, associate principal, and the final nine years as principal.

“As President of IAPSS, I am honored to represent and work alongside a dedicated group of superintendents who are committed to strengthening public education across Indiana,” said Rob Moorhead. “Our organization allows us to present a unified voice for our schools and students, and to help shape a future where every child has access to an exceptional education.”

Rob Moorhead’s extensive experience and accomplishments in educational leadership have earned him widespread recognition. He holds an Educational Specialist's Degree in Educational Leadership from Indiana State University, a Master’s Degree from Xavier University, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Hanover College. His career spans over 38 years in various roles, including spending significant time mentoring principals and superintendents in the early stages of their careers. He is also a Harvard-trained Executive Coach working with fellow leaders in the IAPSS ExCo Program.

Rob’s wife, Lisa, currently serves as the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment and Student Success at Ivy Tech Lawrenceburg and Batesville campuses. The couple has two sons. Their oldest son, Brad, was recently named the new head boys’ basketball coach at South Dearborn High School and resides in Aurora with his wife, Hayley, and eight-month-old son, Miller. Trent is in his fourth season as the head basketball coach at Hauser High School where his team won a Regional Championship in 2025. Trent and his wife, Bre, live in Shelbyville and are expecting their first child in September.

South Ripley Community School Corporation is confident that Mr. Moorhead will bring the same level of dedication, innovation, and excellence to his role as IAPSS President as he has demonstrated throughout his career. The South Ripley Community School Board congratulates Superintendent Moorhead on this well-deserved honor and looks forward to the continued success and advancements he will champion on behalf of public education in Indiana.
