(Rising Sun, Ind.) – A Rising Sun High School junior will soon have her artwork displayed on a billboard along U.S. 50 in Lawrenceburg.
Ohio County Tourism, Inc. announced the winner of their billboard design contest on Monday. The contest challenged students to draw what they loved about Rising Sun
Kaylee Petty was chosen as the winner, beating out other submitted designs from Rising Sun-Ohio County Community School students in various grades.
The winner was determined by Rising Sun-Ohio County Community School teachers.
Utilizing local businesses and landmarks, Petty’s drawing includes the Veteran’s Memorial and Ohio County Courthouse, along with the seaplane, campgrounds, and Rising Star Casino.
OCT Executive Director Kendal Miller says Petty’s design is a good fit for the “So Much Fun in Rising Sun” catchphrase.
Petty’s board is scheduled to be installed on Tourism’s Eads Parkway billboard near UDF in Lawrenceburg after December 31.
